Sergeant York Historic Trail
   The battle for the Argonne came to a crossroads when Alvin C. York stepped into history as the greatest American war hero of WWI.  Walk the steps of this true American hero with Malcolm, an official guide for the Sergeant York Discovery Expedition.  See the York Monument in downtown Chatel Chehery before taking the tour through history.  On the SGT. York Historic Trail you will see where SGT. York attacked a machine-gun position and fought off a bayonet attack while capturing 132 German soldiers.  The SGT. York memorial stone concludes the tour in the now quiet and tranquil Argonne Forest.  A fitting tribute to all those who fought for freedom in the Great War.
